The 1st Special Operations Maintenance Group welcomed a new group commander June 21. Here is a little more information about him.

Name/Rank: Col. Robert Miglionico

Organization: 1st Special Operations Maintenance Group

Hometown: Homestead, Fla.

Off-duty time is for: Family, fishing and watersports

Previous Assignments:
-June 2007 - July 2008: Deputy commander, 58th Maintenance Group, Kirtland Air Force Base, N. M.
-July 2008 - July 2009: Chief Maintenance Management Branch, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
-July 2009 - June 2010: Student, Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.

Organizational Goals:
The 1st SOMXG will focus on three areas:
-First, we will provide safe, reliable aircraft and munitions in support of the 1st Special Operations Wing's mission. This will require strong partnering with our 1st Special Operation Group teammates to ensure we effectively balance the requirement to generate today's sorties with the need to sustain our fleet so it will remain available for tomorrow's challenges.

-Second, we will take care of our Airmen. To that end, we will ensure our Airmen are resourced and trained to do their mission. We will encourage and enable their development. And we will provide due recognition as they continue to excel professionally and personally.

-Third, we will take the best care of our Airmen's families. Our families sacrifice time, careers and many other things to support the Air Force's mission. We are grateful for their support and will do all we can to care for their well-being while their spouses are deployed. We will facilitate downtime for Airmen to spend with their families when at homestation. And we will keep them informed of base services, events and opportunities.

Work Philosophy:
We all volunteered to join this great Air Force, and our work ethic should reflect that. Being an Airman is our choice.
