New commander arrives Tuesday

Col. Marshall "Brad" Webb will assume command of the 1st Special Operations Wing from Col Norman Brozenick Jr. during a ceremony 9 a.m. Tuesday in Freedom Hangar. 

Colonel Brozenick leaves the commander's position for a job as deputy director of studies and analyses, assessments and lessons learned, Headquarters U.S. Air Force at the Pentagon. 

Colonel Webb was the commander of the 352nd Special Operations Group at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, United Kingdom. 

Formation members are required to ride shuttle busses, and due to limited parking at the Freedom Hangar, others are encouraged to ride the shuttle busses. 

The uniform of the day is battle dress uniforms, black T-shirt, sleeves down, and BDU caps only - no mesh, squadron baseball caps. Operations squadrons are authorized to wear flight suits. No sunglasses and no gum chewing. 

Col. Brad Webb, will be the 1st Special Operations Wing commander Tuesday, hails from Topeka, Kan., and spends his off-duty time with his family. 

His organizational goals are a continuation of the 1st SOW Aimpoints:

Take best care of our Air Commandos and our families
Develop the next generation of Air Force and Air Commando leaders 

His work philosophy is: "There is a way." 

Colonel Webb was previously commander of the 352nd Special Operations Group, RAF Mildenhall, England; the deputy and acting director of the Northern Gulf Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs in the Pentagon and a student at the National War College, Washington, D.C.
