More than 20 Airmen from the 16th Civil Engineer Squadron volunteered Thursday to help out at the Bob Hope Village.

"There is a need for repairs and grounds maintenance at Bob Hope Village, and we want to give them as much help as possible," said Master Sgt. Timothy Giddens, 16th CES.

Airmen did everything from removing fallen trees and making vanities, to pulling up stumps and fixing water pumps on fountains.

The squadron has a history of volunteering out at the Enlisted Widows Village, but hopes to make their visits even more regular.

"Our plan is to go on a monthly basis and make whatever repairs need to be made," said Sergeant Giddens.

According to Tech. Sgt. Andrew Crispin, 16th CES, the widows are always grateful for the help and like seeing the troops.

"They always express their gratitude, and seeing the GI's seems to bring back pleasant memories."
