Many of us are guilty of it. We try to avoid it, but still we fall victim.
You pull up to the gate in the morning and realize you have forgotten your common access card in the office.
The mandatory use of the CAC has been a big adjustment for many, so here are a few tips from Airmen around the base on how to remember it:

"I have a little green sticky on my desk that says 'Got CAC?' I haven't forgotten it so far."
- Master Sgt. Joe Richardson, 16th Special Operations Wing command section

"I put a sticky note on my monitor. It says, 'Remember your CAC', instead of 'Don't forget.' It helps me remember better."
- Tech. Sgt. Lynne Castle, 16th Special Operation Wing Protocol office.

"Usually, I put my car keys a-way when I'm at my desk. That way when I get up from my desk, I start looking around and end up picking up my keys and my CAC. I've been thinking of just attaching my CAC onto my keychain, that way I could never leave anywhere without it."
- Staff Sgt. Jeremiah Tillery, 16th Maintenance Operations Squadron

"Well I take it (CAC) out of the reader whenever I'm not using my computer because I don't want the e-mail bandit to get me!"
- Staff Sgt. Holly Reid, 16th Communications Squadron

"I remember by having my own checklist in my head when I leave work.'Hat, keys, CAC.' That's my little reminder phrase I say at the end of the day."
- Staff Sgt. Stephanie Carpenter, 16th Comptroller Squadron
Take your CAC before leaving the base.
