The Hurlburt Field Lady Commandos ended the 2006 softball regular season with an overall record of 21-5.

During the season, the Lady Commandos placed third in the season opener here and third in the World Softball League Tournament in Panama City, Fla.

Their positions qualified them for the WSL championships in September as well as the Military World Tournament in August.

To keep sharp and to promote morale and welfare, the Lady Commandos played in the City of Niceville's Women's League on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The season began in April and ended June 15 with the Lady Commandos finishing with 19-1. The only loss of the year was to Team CSI June 8 while playing short-handed.

They rebounded and clinched the championship June 15 by defeating the second place team Cains Air Conditioning.

Although the entire team played well throughout the season, special recognition went to Missy Welborn, assistant coach, Sarah Wilkinson and Cheryl Trapnell, Co-MVPs, and most improved player, Amanda Stevens.
