HURLBURT FIELD, Fla --
Two first-half goals pushed the 16th Component Maintenance Squadron/16th Medical Group combined team over the 16th Logistics Readiness Squadron 2-1 in intramural soccer action Tuesday.
16th CMS’s Jason Rose and Travis Augustine scored, and the maintenance squadron finished the season with nine wins, three losses and three ties for third place in the league.
Most of the action was on the LRS side the majority of the second half, but the loggies’ goalie Jason Buhl made four saves and its bunker defense negated the CMS offense.
Late in the match, LRS drove down to the other end and Bradley Posey put the ball in the top right hand corner of the net to avoid the shutout.
With the loss, LRS has slipped to sixth in the standings with a 5-8-1 record.
