Soon-to-be-dads learn basics in parenting class
Gary Scott, a Family Advocacy Program assistant with the 1st Special Operations Medical Operations Squadron, holds up an electronic baby mannequin to demonstrate the effects of shaken baby syndrome during the "Dads: The Basics" class at the Hurlburt Field Airman & Family Readiness Center April 14. The program was created by the non-profit National Center for Baby Shaken Syndrome to educate men about the dangers of shaking to help them learn the skills they need to care for infants and encourage discussion among the participants about their own perceptions of fatherhood.
