Fire Prevention Week engulfs Hurlbut Field
Sparky the Fire Dog, National Fire Prevention Association spokesdog, and Fred Richards, 1st Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron fire prevention inspector, teach children at the Child Development Center West how to prevent fires during Fire Prevention Week on Hurlburt Field, Fla., Oct. 5, 2015. Sparky the Fire Dog and Airmen with the Hurlburt Field Fire Department greet Airmen on base, visited Child Development Centers, the base library and other locations around base throughout the week to educate and raise awareness about fire prevention. This year’s theme is “Hear the BEEP, where you SLEEP: Every Bedroom Needs A Working Smoke Alarm!” Fire Prevention Week will conclude with a fire muster challenge open to Airmen around base, Oct. 9.
